Making Calls from
Mobiles
Registering a mobile to your account and making calls
Please note: Customer accepts liability for all calls
through the @mber service from registered phone numbers
Log into the @mber portal using your unique web login and
password
Select the option ‘add caller ID’ from the menu on the
left side of the screen
Add numbers you wish to register to your account
When making international calls, first connect to the
@mber service by calling 020 7096 9299.
Upon hearing the prompt, dial your international number as
normal.
For Nokia Mobile Phone Users
For international numbers you dial frequently, you can save the
numbers with the @mber callthrough number as follows:
Enter the @mber callthrough number
Press the star(*) key three times; a ‘P’ should now show
after the access number
Enter your full International Number
If calling from the UK, The number should look something like the below example:
02070969299p0012122121111
save the number on your phone as normal.
Making Calls from any phone
using your PIN number
Your 10-digit user account
number is also your PIN number to access your account.
When making international calls,
first connect to the @mber service by calling 020 7096
9299.
Upon hearing the prompt, enter your PIN, then dial your
international number as normal upon hearing the
appropriate prompt.

Dedicated
Physical IP Phone
You can use
@mber just like a regular phone for all your inbound and
outbound calls. You will need to purchase, or already own,
a dedicated IP Phone or a Phone Adapter to work with a
regular phone. The service will require a broadband
connection. For programming instructions, see 'programming
your SIP device'
Installing and
using the @mber softphone
You will require two
way audio facilities on your computer eg Headset, Speakers
and Microphone, USB handset.
You can download the @mber
softphone from the top of this page. Once downloaded,
install the software onto your PC (the software will not
work with MacOS).
Once installed, log in to the softphone using your account
number and password. You can choose to save your log in
details to the phone if you wish.
Make your calls - remember to make all calls inclusive of
country code
Using the @mber webphone
Log into the @mber portal at
http://phone.ambertelecom.net , and select menu option
'Web-Phone' - click the button 'start IAX phone' - the
phone should load automatically; you may have to authorise
the software to load, and you will require Java on
your computer.
Using the @mber phonekey
The @mber phonekey is a
quick and easy way to make your calls from any broadband
computer. Simply connect the phonekey to a USB port on the
computer and the @mber softphone should run as a popup on
the screen.
Making Callback calls
using the Web Callback option
Log onto the @mber
portal. Select the 'Callback' menu. Enter the number you
wish to call from in the box next to 'your number'. Enter
the number you wish to call in the appropriate box. Click
on the 'click here to place call' button.
Your phone should ring
with very little delay - answer the call and await the
number you are calling to start ringing.
